Velcro rooster Collar/ Stop Crowing – Set of 6 (18cm Long) – Fits All Sized Roosters

Please Read:

These neckbands are used to reduce the crowing of roosters, helping to keep noise levels down. These collars are cruelty-free and designed to lower the voice of the bird without affecting their health or ability to eat and drink normally when used as instructed.

Product Specifications for Anti-Noise rooster collar:

  • Material: Velcro
  • Size: 18 cm long
  • Adjustable: Can be altered by cutting and shaping both ends to make it smaller

How to Use:

  1. Comfort First: Ensure the rooster is comfortable before putting on the collar. Gently groom his hackle feathers up towards his head.
  2. Placement: Place the collar with the soft side against the skin on the mid-to upper-neck, just below the long hackle growth.
  3. Secure: Wrap the two straps around the neck and secure them to the throat patch, avoiding trapping feathers beneath the straps.
  4. Monitor: Fluff his feathers back into position and monitor his reaction.

How Tight Should It Be?

  • Leave it loose enough to fit your fingertip underneath the throat patch, which is usually sufficient to reduce crowing.
  • Do not fit too tightly to avoid interfering with blood circulation and airflow.
  • Monitor the bird and adjust as necessary.

Note: Check the band every 6-11 days and loosen as needed while the cockerel continues to grow.

How Will My Rooster React?

  • Roosters may initially panic and “fight” the collar, showing typical response behaviors like backing up, thrashing, and hiding.
  • Keep an eye on the rooster and ensure he can’t hurt himself. Keep him away from other male birds during this time.
  • It may take minutes, hours, or a full day for the rooster to adjust to the collar. If a rooster does not calm down, loosen the collar and let him wear it for a few days without throat restriction, then gradually tighten it.

Long-Term Effects:

  • The collars are simple and low-profile, causing minimal disruption to a rooster’s life after the initial adjustment period.
  • Roosters should be able to eat, drink, talk, dust bathe, breed, roost, and run around with ease, functioning normally but quieter.

Important: If the rooster shows signs of gasping for breath, difficulty breathing, lethargy, or discoloration in the comb or wattles, the collar is too tight and should be loosened or removed immediately. Always be patient, gentle, and kind while the roosters adjust to the collar.
